What Duct Cleaning Costs in Tampa (2026)

The range
For one AC system, cleaned to the NADCA standard with the whole system under negative pressure, companies generally quote between $450 and $1,000. That is the range the EPA gives for the country, and Tampa sits inside it rather than above it. A typical single-story house with one system and fifteen or so registers lands in the lower half. A two-story house with two systems is close to two jobs and is priced that way.
Dryer vent cleaning is a separate line: roughly $150 to $300 in Tampa. One Tampa Bay company publishes $199 for a wall exit and $299 for a roof exit, which is a fair picture of how the roof changes the number. We do not set these prices and take no share of them.
What moves a duct quote
- Number of systems. Each air handler and its ducts is its own job.
- Number of supply registers and returns. More openings, more runs to work.
- Attic access. A low, hot attic over a 1920s bungalow takes longer than a walk-in attic in a 2005 two-story.
- Duct type. Flex and duct board need gentler, slower tools than sheet metal.
- The air handler. Blower wheel, cabinet and drain pan add time; coil cleaning adds more and needs a licensed AC contractor.
- Condition. Heavy debris, pests or construction dust take longer than light dust.
- Extras you may not need: sanitizers, coatings, UV lights, "deodorizing".
What a quote should list
A written quote worth comparing names the number of systems, says every supply and return is included, names the equipment used for negative pressure, says whether the blower and coil are included, and prices any add-on separately with a reason. If it says "whole house" and a price and nothing else, ask the questions before the truck arrives, not after.
Tampa quotes that should raise an eyebrow
Too low
Anything under about $200 for a whole house is not a full cleaning. The trade body NADCA calls $99 whole-house specials a bait-and-switch. The guide on the $99 offer explains how that usually plays out.
Too high, with fear attached
A quote well over $1,500 for one system, built on mold you were told about but not shown, is also worth a second look. Ask for photos from inside the ducts. If remediation is genuinely needed, Florida requires a mold remediator license for growth over 10 square feet, or a chapter 489 contractor working within its license.
Where the money is better spent
In a Tampa attic, sealing and repairing leaky or crushed ducts usually saves more on cooling than cleaning does. If your ducts are both dirty and leaky, clean first, then seal. Tampa Electric's duct repair program covers sealing for eligible older homes; the attic heat guide has the details.
Call for a free quote. Have the number of systems and a rough count of vents ready and you will get a number that means something.

Common questions
Why is the phone figure only a range until someone sees the attic?
A good company can give a range from the number of systems and vents. A firm price waits until someone has seen the attic and the air handler.
Is it cheaper to do ducts and dryer vent together?
Often a little, because the trip is already made. Ask for both as separate lines so you can see what each costs.
Do condos cost less?
Usually, because there are fewer runs and no attic. A condo with a shared return or ducts in a dropped ceiling can take longer than it looks.
